How do Russian women differ from Europeans or Americans? The fact is that they do not have many features that are typical for Western ladies. Most of the inherited features that we will explain below are a part of the Russian mentality. So, what will a Russian woman never do?
1. She will not prefer a career to a family
Of course, we will not talk about all women. Surely, there are many women in Russia, for whom career growth is in the first place. But most of them are still focused on family relationships. Russians believe that the sooner you get married, the better. As a result, in Europe, the average age of marriage for women is 28 years, and in Russia – 23 years. This feature is also typical for Ukrainian women.
2. She will not refuse to support her children
In Western countries, it is customary to go to college or university and leave home. Students do not wait for parental handouts, they try to stand on their own feet. If a Russian boy or girl becomes a student, they often continue to live in the parental home, or their parents regularly send them money during their studies. If we take into account how many single-parent families exist in Russia, it becomes clear that basically, the care of an adult child lies on a woman’s shoulders.
3. She will not prefer traveling to grandchildren
With rare exceptions, elderly Russian women look after their grandchildren. Meanwhile, Western grannies will more likely choose to travel around the world. Staying with grandchildren in the US and Europe is simply not acceptable. If parents need to go somewhere or leave, they hire a babysitter for the child.
4. She can easily stay at home for her whole life
Russians are traditionally accustomed to the fact that a husband in the family should earn a living, and the wife should do the housework. Therefore, it is customary for Russian women to stay at home, cook, clean the house, and look after the children. However, in recent years, this tendency is changing because more women want to build their careers. This is also true for a Ukrainian woman.
5. She will rarely ask a husband to do the household tasks
In Western countries, the household duties are divided between the spouses, and the husband does not see anything wrong with making breakfast, cleaning the apartment, or doing the laundry. In traditional Russian families, household tasks are often on the women’s shoulders. However, such a woman will expect her husband to pay all the utility bills, bank credits, purchase food, and pay in the restaurant.
